A Gulf Hotels Group Board member since 1991, he currently is Vice Chairman of the multi-national Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo. His chairmanships include Abdulrahman Jassim Kanoo Co., Bahrain International Cargo Services, Bahrain Ship Repairing & Engineering Co. BSC and Charilaos Apostolides Bahrain and he holds directorships with more than 25 companies that includes APM Terminals Bahrain BSC, National Bank of Bahrain. Mr. Kanoo was previously employed as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director by Aluminium Bahrain BSC and a Chairman by Bahrain Airport Service.
Mrs. Hala F. Almoayyed is the Executive Director of Almoayyed Contracting Group, a large conglomerate with operations spanning Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. Having graduated in Business Administration from Georgetown University. She has successfully steered the group to a multi-divisional organization with companies that undertaking construction, electromechanical services, cleaning, maintenance, security, transport, real estate, and more. She is on the board of various companies in contracting, IT, F&B, and energy.
Mrs. Hala places significant importance on giving back to the community. She dedicates a large part of her time and resources to Ibn Khuldoon National School, and is a founding member of Al Mustaqbal Society, a society to help finance physiotherapy for children. Her strong belief in sustainable business and environments drive her to explore and implement these best practices in her leadership role.
Following a distinguished 37-year career with Gulf Hotels Group, Mohamed Buzizi retired from his position as Managing Director (CEO) in April 2007. He continued to contribute to the company as a Board Member and Adviser to the Chairman on International Relations and Business Development, & Chairman of the Board of Bahrain Airport Hotel. He also serves as Managing Director of ATTA Tourism Consultancy, President of SKAL International Bahrain 370, Board Member of Tourism Services Company, and an active Member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).
Mr. Adel Hussain Maskati holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering. Mr. Maskati worked in the Oil Industry from 1978 to 1993. Mr. Maskati joined Maskati Commercial Services in 1993, a company that manages Manufacturing plants, trades in Industrial products and manages Investment Portfolios. He served on the Board of Directors and Board Committees in Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Bahrain Telecommunication Company, United Paper Industries Company BSC ©, Abu Dhabi National Paper Mill Company, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Labour Market Regulatory Authority, Bahrain Economic Development Board, Gulf Air and National Health Regulatory Authority, Bahrain Tourism Company.

Mr. Jassim Abdulaal joined and elected to the Board of Gulf Hotels Group B.S.C. in 2010 and currently acting as Managing Partner at Grant Thornton Abdulaal since 2006. He is a distinguished Chartered Accountant certified in the United Kingdom, and a participating member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), with over 30 years of experience in audit, financial advisory, and corporate governance, he is widely recognized for his strategic leadership and technical expertise across multiple sectors. He heads up the board’s audit committee.
Mr. Jassim Abdulaal held senior roles from working with BDO, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Coopers & Lybrand in the UK.
He was also a member of Bahrain Parliament for 4 years from 2002 to 2006, where he held positions as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Finance and Economic Committee.
Throughout his career, he has served on the boards of numerous public and private companies, chaired multiple audit committees, and contributed to governmental advisory panels. His expertise includes:

Mr. Jassim Abdulaal, recognized as a certified accounting expert by Bahrain’s civil and criminal courts and the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Settlement, he has overseen complex custodianship and expert witness cases for over 20 years. He has also been appointed as trustee and liquidator for several medium and large-scale corporate reorganizations and bankruptcies in Bahrain.
Fahad Kanoo is the Vice President of the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group Strategic Business Units, which encompasses of Kanoo Travel, Kanoo Logistics, Kanoo Shipping, and Kanoo Industrial and Energy.
With over 18 years of diverse business experience, Fahad Kanoo has held various roles across different sectors throughout his career. Among his various positions include being the Executive Director of The Kanoo Group (UAE), he serves as a board member for several organizations, including AkzoNobel UAE, Kone Cranes (CIS), and BASF Kanoo. Furthermore, he currently holds the position of President of the Bahrain Padel Federation. He also holds an EMBA from INSEAD Business School.
Husain Alshehab is a Bahraini professional with over 19 years of experience in asset management, specializing in public equities and private investments. He serves as a board member of Gulf Hotels Group, Delmon Poultry Company, Bahrain National Life Assurance Company, and Bahrain National Holding Company. He is the CEO of Growth Consultancy and Management and the founder of Dukan Café.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Business Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, he has completed the Fellowship for Leaders in Democracy, an Executive Education program in Sustainable Business Strategy, and is an Associate Value Specialist. He has also undertaken training with the GCC Board of Directors Institute in Building Better Boards: Global Best Practices and Best Practices for Audit & Risk Committees.
Mohamed Ahmadi is a seasoned finance professional with a distinguished career spanning nearly two decades in private equity and real estate investments. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, Canada, and has honed his expertise through strategic roles at prominent institutions.
Following his academic pursuits, Mohamed embarked on a journey to Dubai, where he joined Dubai International Capital, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding. In this role, he focused on private equity investments and leveraged buyouts across Europe, North America, and the Middle East, gaining invaluable experience in deal structuring and execution.
Mohamed subsequently returned to Bahrain to join Mumtalakat, the Sovereign Wealth Fund. During his 11-year tenure, he managed a diverse portfolio of companies across sectors such as aviation services, manufacturing, logistics, real estate, and tourism. His strategic acumen and leadership skills were instrumental in driving growth and value creation for Mumtalakat’s investments.
In addition to his portfolio management responsibilities, Mohamed served as a Director on the Board of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, representing Mumtalakat for six years. This role provided him with a deep understanding of the tourism industry and its contribution to Bahrain’s economy.
Mohamed’s most recent professional venture was at PG, a high net worth family office, where he was a key member of the Real Estate team. He played a pivotal role in overseeing development projects from inception to completion. His contributions to strategic projects like the Hawar Resort by Mantis and Binaa Al Bahrain have not only benefited the shareholders but also played a significant role in shaping the real estate and tourism landscape of Bahrain.
Throughout his career, Mohamed has served on numerous boards contributing his valuable insights and guidance to these organizations. This experience has further solidified his understanding of corporate governance and strategic decision-making.
Suha Karzoon joined Mumtalakat in September 2014 and is currently Managing Director – Finance and Technology, overseeing the Finance, Treasury and Information Technology functions. She is responsible for implementing effective financial policies and controls, transparent and accurate financial reporting and providing state of the art technology platforms to support business objectives. She has over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting, audit, advisory and statutory reporting services.
Prior to holding this role, Suha was Chief Operating Officer, overseeing Legal, Risk Management, Human Resources and Administration, and Information Technology. She was also responsible for corporate governance practices at Mumtalakat and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements where needed.
Suha was formerly Vice President – Finance and support at Tamkeen. She has also held different managerial positions at KPMG International. She is currently a board member at Bahrain International Circuit and Bahrain Agriculture Development Company and has previously served as a board member in Aluminium Bahrain (Alba).
Suha is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a BSc in Accounting from the University of Bahrain.
Zain Al Amer is an Associate Director in the Investment Department at Osool Asset Management. She is currently a Board Member of Bahrain International Golf Course Company (BIGCC). She was appointed to the Gulf Hotel Group (GHG) Board in March 2023 representing the Social Insurance Organization.
She is a holder of a B.A. in International Economics with minors in Global Communication and Information Technologies from American University of Paris. Zain joined Osool in 2018, and prior to that worked at The Family Office, Bahrain and Robeco Asset Management, a subsidiary of Rabobank, Netherlands.
Andrew has more than 30 years of experience at C-suite/Board levels across international markets including Asia, Europe, UK, U.S. & Canada, as well as the Middle East. He has served at Board level across diverse industries including CPG/FMCG, Food and Beverage, Retail and Hotels.
Previously, in addition to his role as Group CEO of MMI, and Emirates Leisure Retail, he also served on the Board of Premier Inn Hotels Gulf and Emirates- CAE Flight Training, as well as several other prominent organizations both in the region and internationally.
In 2022, he successfully completed the INSEAD International Directors program, receiving the INSEAD Certificate of Board Governance.
Today in addition to Gulf Hotels Group, Andrew serves on several boards including Edamah and Restaurant Brands Asia.
